The New Town
It is a new suburb established with an aim to generate electric energy. The Gobindsagar reservoir behind the dam is 80-km long on whose banks has sprung the new township of Bilaspur. Two big generating stations have been built here just below the Bhakra Dam with the capacity of 600 millions watts.
Deoli
This place is famous for Asia's biggest mirror carp hatchery at a distance of 13-km from the main town. Kandror Bridge is situated on the lake created by the highest bridge in India; and Kindror Bridge is the second highest bridge in the world 22-km away from Bilaspur.
Markand
Markand is situated 25-km from Bilaspur, is where it is believed that Maharishi Markand performed his penances. The sprinkle sacred water over here is said to cure ailments related to infant diseases and sterility. There is also a shrine where a night fair is held annually on Baisakhi day.
Shri Naina Devi Ji
It is a famous place of worship situated on at the height of 9,15m above the Anandpur Sahib in Ropar.
Sariun Fort
Sariun Fort is located about 1,500m above M.S.L and is about 58-km.from Bilaspur.
Tiun Fort
Ruin of Tiun Fort is situated on the top of Tiun range at the distance of about 55-Km.from Bilaspur.
Vyas Cave
It is situated at the foot of the new township developed here. Vyas Rishi meditated in this cave so it is named after him.
Swarghat
Swarghat is about 40-km. from the city Bilaspur. There is a temple dedicated to Lakshmi Narayan here.
Bhakra Dam
Situated at Bhakra village of Bilaspur, it is one of the highest straight gravity dams in the world. The Bhakra lake is about 90-km long. Bhakra Dam was dedicated to the nation by late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru on November 20th, 1963.
